The French club Lille revealed their position on releasing Canadian striker Jonathan David during the upcoming winter transfer period.

The 24-year-old Canadian player’s contract with his current club expires. French club Lille, at the end of the current season 2024/2025, so he has the right to sign and negotiate with any club starting in January.

Lille club president Olivier Letang said in important statements. “Jonathan's situation is simple We are very happy to have him with us.”

He continued: “Last season, he had one year remaining on his contract as well. We can qualify for the Champions League when you have A player who scores 20 to 25 goals per season.”

He continued: “We were not obligated to sell him, and in addition we did not have any offers. Our position was very clear since First off, and obviously Jonathan already has an offer to renew and stay with us, the ball is in His home stadium."
