Osimhen targets goal against Lille and first Champions League strike

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian forward for Galatasaray, is looking to score his first goal in the UEFA Champions League this season when his team faces French side Lille on Wednesday in the third round of the group stage.

Victor Osimhen missed the match against Sporting Lisbon in the first round due to injury, before facing FC Barcelona without managing to find the net, setting his sights on the match against Lille to regain his scoring presence on the European stage.

According to Turkish newspaper "Sporx", the 27-year-old forward spoke with his coach Okan Buruk before the match and promised him to score a goal against Lille, a team he previously represented during the 2019-2020 season.

Victor Osimhen will face his former team for the first time in an official match, having scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille. In the current season, the Nigerian striker has netted 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 7 matches with Galatasaray across all competitions.
