The Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of African Football decided today that the Libyan national team lost to Nigeria 3-0, in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
CAF decided to fine the Confederation. The Libyan was paid an amount of 50 thousand US dollars, after the Nigerian national team delegation left without playing the match, and the Nigerian national team plane took off from Al-Abraq Airport to Abuja, the Nigerian capital, due to the delay in arriving in Benghazi to play the match.
The Nigerian national team delegation was forced to land at Al-Abraq Airport, which is 300 km east of Benghazi, due to a technical error at Benina Airport.
The Libyan Federation denounced the actions of its counterpart, the Nigerian Federation, stressing that the Libyan national team initially faced many difficulties in the first leg.
