Al Ain manager regrets the behavior of his team's fans

Ahmed Al Shamsi, the Emirati manager of Al Ain, issued an apology to Al Hilal Saudi Club and its players after the actions taken by some of the Emirati club's fans in yesterday's match. .


Al Hilal Club succeeded in achieving an exciting victory over Al Ain, 5-4, in a match in the third round of the AFC Champions League for the Elite.


Al Shamsi said in statements to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper: “The match was full of excitement and goals, and we apologize to our fans and congratulate Al Hilal. The two teams played a great match that will remain in the memory for a long time.”


He continued: “Regarding what happened with some fans throwing cans at Al Hilal players while scoring goals, this matter came from people who cannot bear responsibility.”


He added: “We apologize to the Saudi Sports Street and we apologize to Al Hilal’s management and its players. I spoke with Saud Kariri (Al Hilal’s sporting director) about this and I apologized to him and told him that these were individual actions.”


He concluded: "These actions do not affect the Al Ain fans or the Emirati fans, and thank God the match began and ended in a great way between the two teams."
