Jimi: Renard must return to lead the Saudi national team

Hatem Khaimi, the former head of the unit, spoke about the poor performance of the Saudi national team, calling on the Saudi Football Federation to take quick decisions to save Al-Akhdar.

The Saudi national team continued its poor results with a 0-0 draw yesterday with Bahrain in the fourth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

He said Khaimi on the “Kora” program on the “Rotana Khaleejia” channel: “We had previously expected the national team to reach this state, and we were subjected to great criticism. Unfortunately, it turned out that we were right, and the Saudi Federation was wrong, and the national team is now living in complete chaos.”

He continued: “We have reached rock bottom with Mancini, and he must leave immediately, and Frenchman Renard returns to lead the national team, and Fahd Al-Mufarrej must be used to manage the national team.”

He added: “The change must be comprehensive and as quickly as possible, because the technical and administrative situation in the national team is not reassuring, and continuing the situation as it is will lead to disaster.”

He concluded his speech: "If Mancini is dismissed, the league round scheduled for November 8 and 9 must be postponed, so that we can give the new coach a greater opportunity before the return match against Japan."
