Syrian Federation Announces Cancellation of Friendly Match Against Bahrain
The Syrian Football Association announced in an official statement the cancellation of the friendly match that was scheduled between the Syrian national team and its Bahraini counterpart on June 9 in the city of Antalya, Turkey.
The federation clarified in its statement that this decision came after consultation with the technical and administrative staff, due to the Syrian team's inability to arrive on time as a result of disruptions in air travel in the region over the past 24 hours.
The statement indicated that these circumstances led to a ten-hour delay in the departure of the national team's plane coming from Minsk, Belarus, causing disruption to the flight schedule and prior bookings. This resulted in the team's delegation arriving in Antalya only a few hours before the match was scheduled to start, prompting the federation to decide to apologize for not participating in the match.
