Vingada: The dominance of foreign stars weakened the Saudi team
Nelo Vingada, the former Saudi national team coach, confirmed that the control of foreign stars over Saudi clubs greatly weakened Al-Akhdar.
Since 2023, Saudi clubs have included many international foreign stars, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema and Riyad Mahrez.
Vingada said in statements to the Arabic version of the Goal website: “Football cannot be just a business. You will see after 3 years, the wave of bringing international foreign players to the Saudi League will end.”
The Portuguese coach believes that Mancini, the Saudi national team coach, finds it difficult to find a strong formation of local players due to the control of the clubs by foreign players.
