Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman continued his controversial statements regarding the Saudi League.
Koeman made exciting statements after Steven Bergwijn moved to the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, where he said that he is a player without sporting ambition and is concerned with financial aspects. He also announced that he would not be called up to the ranks of the Dutch national team.
After Memphis Depay, the Netherlands national team player, joined the Brazilian team Corinthians, Koeman was asked if he would call him up in the future.
Koeman said, as reported by the famous journalist Fabrizio Romano, on the “X” platform: “I objected to Bergwijn moving to Saudi Arabia, but things may be different with Memphis.”
He added: “The level of the league in Brazil is different. So yes, Depay can be part of the national team, but it depends on his fitness and whether he regains his form.”
