Anger in Spain due to Vinicius's statements
Real Madrid's Brazilian international star, Vinicius Junior, sparked the anger of Spanish newspapers and media outlets, especially those close to Madrid, after his recent statements in which he demanded that the 2030 World Cup not be held in Spain if racism did not end.
Vinicius said in a press interview: “In Spain, the majority of people are not racist, they are a minority, but I love being here, I love playing for Real Madrid and I love having the best conditions to live with my family.” /p>
He added: “I hope that Spain will develop and understand the seriousness of insulting someone because of the color of their skin, because if things do not change by 2030, the location of the World Cup must be changed.”
He added: “If players do not feel comfortable and confident to play in a country where they may be exposed to racism, the matter will be very complicated.”
He concluded: “I believe and want to do everything until things change because the majority are not racist, but there is a small group that affects the image of the country in which people live very well.”
