Al-Ahly: Boufal’s salary is an obstacle to contracting with him
Al-Ahly Club revealed the reason for not signing Moroccan Sofiane Boufal for free in the current summer transfers.
The player terminated his contract with the Qatari club Al Rayyan by mutual consent, and became available to any team that wanted to include him for free.
Press sources revealed, according to a source from Al-Ahly, that Boufal is outside the team’s accounts because he receives a huge salary of about $4 million annually.
The source confirmed that this high salary exceeds the capabilities of any Egyptian club, and therefore entering into the deal is inappropriate.
The 30-year-old player participated in only 6 matches with Al Rayyan last season and scored one goal.
