Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk appeared in press statements after defeating Manchester United 3-0 in the third round of the English Premier League.

He said in his speech: “ "It's a proud moment. What pleased me most was the performance from start to finish. We want to enjoy ourselves there and the only way to do that is the hard work we put in. We dominated and should have scored more. The 3-0 win is a big improvement on last year." p>

He added: “We had to stay focused and we did that very well. I am very proud of the players.”

He continued: “Joshua Zirkzee is now playing as a striker for them, but I know that he likes to drop the ball and pick it up with his feet. We know that they like to do that by passing from the back, but we quickly negated that. Our game plan worked. We were patient.”

He noted: “What Jurgen Klopp said in one of his last interviews is that the new manager inherited a very good team. The coach left but the players did not. We are not satisfied with just competing.”

He concluded: “We want to achieve great achievements this season. I do not participate in any tournament just to compete, but I want to win. We are facing a very good team like Manchester City and Arsenal. Our consistency looks good, and after the international break it could be interesting to play every three days. I'm definitely enjoying the ride."
