Pio Esposito enters Serie A history with special milestone for Inter
Pio Esposito, Inter's forward, has achieved a remarkable milestone in Serie A, becoming the first Italian player born in 2005 or later to reach 10 goals in the competition, after scoring during the 2-0 victory over Como in the 11th round.
Pio Esposito's goal came in the 12th minute, following an assist from his teammate Djed Spence, giving Inter the lead and marking his name in the history of Serie A with this figure, as he raised his tally to 10 goals in the competition, with 7 goals last season and 3 goals this season.
Among all players born in 2005 and later, only two players have surpassed Pio Esposito in reaching this number: Senegalese Asan Diaw, a Como forward, with 12 goals, and Turkish Kenan Yildiz, a Juventus star, who tops this list with 19 goals.
Pio Esposito is 21 years old, having been born on June 28, 2005, in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy. He plays as a centre-forward and stands 1.91 meters tall. He progressed through the Inter academy since 2014 before moving to Spezia on loan in 2023 for two seasons, where he scored 22 goals in various competitions, including 19 goals in Serie B during the 2024-2025 season.
The young striker returned to Inter in 2025 and succeeded in establishing himself within the first team, continuing his development and confirming his ability to become one of the prominent attacking faces of the club and Italian football in the future.
