Rafael Leão suffers serious muscle injury, raising concerns at Galatasaray
Galatasaray have announced that their Portuguese player Rafael Leão has suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh after undergoing medical examinations and an MRI scan, without specifying the duration of his absence from the pitch.
The club has announced that tests conducted on the player at the Maslak Acıbadem Hospital revealed severe strain in the upper hamstring muscles of the right thigh, accompanied by muscle bleeding. They indicated that his treatment program has begun.
Rafael Leão suffered an injury during Galatasaray's match against Amed Sport on Saturday, in the 11th round of the Turkish league, after scoring his team's first goal in the 7th minute, before leaving the pitch injured in the 50th minute, in a match that ended with Galatasaray winning by four goals to three.
The player downplayed the severity of his injury after the match, stating that he does not believe it is serious and that he will wait for the results of medical tests. However, subsequent diagnosis revealed a more complex muscle injury.
Galatasaray have not set a date for the player's return, but Turkish media reports suggest he could be out for between four and six weeks, a duration that remains unconfirmed as they await developments in his condition and response to treatment.
