Leverkusen confirm stance on Ibrahim Maza's departure amid Paris Saint-Germain interest
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have closed the door on the possibility of Algerian international Ibrahim Maza leaving during the upcoming winter transfer window, confirming their desire to keep the player in their squad despite reports of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and several other European clubs.
Reports suggest that Maza's stay with the team is 100 percent assured, denying any official contacts or movements from Paris Saint-Germain to sign him during the winter transfer window.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen's stance comes after comments made by the player to Sky Sports and RTL, expressing his desire to experience a future with one of Europe's top clubs, mentioning Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Arsenal as among the best teams in the world.
The Algerian player spoke about his personal ambitions, expressing his desire to win the UEFA Champions League and compete for the Ballon d'Or, goals he aims to achieve during his professional career.
Ibrahim Maza, who will turn 21 this November, is under contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen until the summer of 2030, having established himself as an important player in the team's lineup, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 12 matches across all competitions this season.
On the individual awards front, the Algerian star finished ninth in the Kopa Trophy ranking for Best Young Player in the world for the 2025-2026 season, and he was also chosen by Argentine star Lionel Messi in third place in his voting for the award.
