Assistant Kompany praises team performance, lauds Lennart Karl and Upamecano

Aaron Danks, assistant coach of Bayern Munich, expressed his complete satisfaction with the team's performance during their 2-0 victory over Atlético in the UEFA Champions League, praising the balance between the defensive and attacking play of his players.

Danks said after the match: "I am very happy with the team's performance today. I think our level overall was fantastic, both in terms of the collective defending to keep a clean sheet and the way we attacked and created chances. We were very pleased with the performance of the entire group."

Bayern Munich's assistant coach spoke about the impressive performance of young player Lennart Karl, who opened the scoring, saying: "There has been a lot of hype around Lenny recently, but he has shown strong character and a great deal of mental strength despite his young age, and he also has good confidence in himself. He delivered a fantastic match capped off with a special goal, finishing the attack excellently by lifting the ball over the goalkeeper. We are happy for him and for the group and the performance of the entire team."

Danks has given a special mention to Dayot Upamecano, emphasizing that he does not receive enough appreciation despite his outstanding levels. He said: "I believe Upamecano's performances have not been adequately recognized for a long time. What he brings to the team through his personality and leadership qualities is remarkable, and he is a defender who is extremely difficult to play against."

He added: "I watch him daily in training as he faces strikers of the highest level, constantly engaging in battles and duels, and the same goes for official matches. He delivered a fantastic performance tonight, alongside Jonathan Tah and the rest of the defense and Manuel Neuer."

Danks concluded his remarks by stating that the victory came thanks to the team's collective spirit, explaining that it is difficult to choose a specific player after such a performance, especially since Bayern Munich showed great cohesion in facing tough circumstances on the pitch of a strong opponent. However, he stressed that Upamecano deserves praise for his contributions, describing his performances as outstanding.
