Pioli reveals reasons for failure with Fiorentina and rejects offers from abroad
Stefano Pioli, the former head coach of ACF Fiorentina, has revealed that he rejected several coaching offers from outside Italy following his recent stint with the team, explaining that he needed to step away from football for a while after the disappointing end to his time in Florence.
Stefano Pioli stated during his appearance on the "Sky Calcio Club" program: "Things went very badly with ACF Fiorentina, and I needed to step away a bit. I received some offers from abroad, but I didn't think about accepting them."
The Italian coach added: "I miss sitting on the bench now," referring to his wish to return to coaching after a period away.
Stefano Pioli has admitted that he made a mistake during his time with ACF Fiorentina, as he raised expectations excessively, which put the team under unnecessary pressure, stating: "In Florence, I made a mistake when I raised the ceiling of ambitions too high, and put the team under pressure, even though that was not necessary."
