Mariska: We didn't deserve to lose, and I hope luck is on our side next time
Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's head coach, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's 1-0 loss to Brighton, stating that the players performed well and created numerous chances, but they lacked effectiveness in front of goal. He made these comments during an interview on "BBC Match of the Day."
Mariska said: "It's a bit strange, I feel the same sensation that I had after the away match against Aston Villa. We did enough to get a better result, but we have to get over what happened and focus on achieving victories in the upcoming matches."
He added: "We created a good number of attacking attempts, and sometimes you have to be more decisive in front of goal and take your chances to score, but the most important thing for me is that we succeeded in creating those opportunities."
Manchester City manager said: "Honestly, we did everything we could. Sometimes you struggle to score, but the most important point is that we created chances. The players' attitude was positive, and I have no comments on their spirit or performance, they fought until the end."
Mariska concluded his statements by saying: "I hope luck will be more on our side next time."
