Brighton defeat Manchester City in the Premier League and threaten their lead

Brighton secured a valuable victory over Manchester City with a goal to nil in the match held at the Etihad Stadium, as part of the ninth round of the Premier League.

The only goal of the match came in the 11th minute, after Maxim De Cuyper sent in a cross that Yasin Ayari met in front of the goal, easily putting it into the net and giving his team the lead.

Manchester City attempted to come back in the match, creating many chances throughout both halves, but they lacked the final touch in front of goal, with Brighton's goalkeeper and defenders excelling in thwarting the home side's attempts.

With this result, Brighton has raised its tally to 19 points in third place, while Manchester City has stalled at 21 points at the top temporarily, the same tally as Arsenal in second place, who have yet to play their match in this round.

Arsenal will play against Liverpool on Sunday evening in the ninth round at Anfield.
