Liverpool are preparing to strengthen their defense in 2027, with Virgil van Dijk's contract nearing its end and Ronald Araujo's loan set to expire this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The club has set its sights on Jarrad Branthwaite, the Everton defender, amid interest from Manchester United as well. The website reported from journalist "Pete O'Rourke" that the clubs continue to monitor the player, who is contracted to Everton until 2031, with a potential transfer fee reaching around £80 million.

Regarding Alexander Arnold, who transferred to Real Madrid, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague indicated that the player does not intend to leave the royal club. Football Insider also reported that he is not currently planning to return to Liverpool, although he has not completely ruled out this step, as his contract runs until 2031.

Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Luka Vuskovic, the Brighton defender, but signing him could be challenging as "Pete O'Rourke" confirmed that his club does not wish to sell. He added that Real Madrid and several other top clubs are tracking the Croatian international defender, who has great potential for development.
