Barcelona fined €602 over Julián Alvarez case
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" has announced that Barcelona will be fined €602 due to a complaint lodged by Atlético regarding alleged communications with Argentine striker Julián Alvarez, despite him being under a valid contract with the Madrid club.
Atlético have lodged a complaint against Barcelona on June 30, objecting to what they considered negotiations with a player under contract with the club during the protected contractual period, calling for necessary actions to be taken regarding the incident.
According to the report, the disciplinary proceedings opened by the Spanish Football Federation in July have concluded with a financial penalty imposed on the Catalan club, based on Article 133 of the disciplinary regulations, which pertains to violations of instructions and organizational obligations, stipulating penalties of up to 602 euros for minor infractions covered by it.
The issue recalls the previous dispute between the two clubs regarding the transfer of Frenchman Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona in 2019, when Atlético filed a similar complaint, which ended with a fine of 300 euros imposed on the Catalan club, according to the Spanish newspaper.
