FC Barcelona completes bond issuance worth 105 million euros
FC Barcelona has announced the completion of a new bond issuance worth €105 million, maturing in October 2036. This brings the total of the two issuances approved by the general assembly last September to €210 million.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", the club has resorted to this measure to cope with financial liquidity pressures, resulting from the time gap between the start of repaying the costs of the Espai Barça project and the complete finishing of the Spotify Camp Nou stadium and its utilization.
FC Barcelona has issued the first tranche worth €105 million last July, with international investors fully subscribing to the new tranche in less than 24 hours, at a pricing difference of 202 basis points, the same level recorded in the previous issuance.
The club explained that the speed of the subscription reflects investors' confidence in its ability to generate revenue and develop its projects, while Médias Notes bonds maintain priority in collecting their dues from television broadcasting revenues.
After the issuance, FC Barcelona maintained its BBB credit rating with a stable outlook from Morningstar DBRS, a prerequisite for Goldman Sachs to lead the expansion of the Espai Barça project worth €300 million, which was approved by the general assembly last month.
