Koundé intensifies efforts to catch up with El Clásico
Jules Koundé, the defender of FC Barcelona, is continuing to work on recovering from an injury to his left ankle in an attempt to be ready for the match against Real Madrid, scheduled for Sunday evening at Spotify Camp Nou.
The French defender was absent from the match against Paris Saint-Germain, which FC Barcelona lost 4-2 on Tuesday, due to a severe sprain in his left ankle sustained during the match against Real Betis, which ended with the Catalan team winning 5-2.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Jules Koundé's participation in the Clasico looks difficult, but he continues his rehabilitation at the club's facilities, alongside additional sessions with his physiotherapist, in an effort to return under the management of Hans Flick.
Jules Koundé shared videos of a therapy session in an outdoor pool, with a water temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, during a cold night. He commented: "You arrive at the gym with a lot of good intentions, then your coach tells you to put on your swimsuit because we are training in the pool tonight at 7 PM, and there is no sunlight, the wind is blowing, and the water temperature is 10 degrees Celsius. After 30 minutes, you get out of the water and realize you were better off inside."
Water exercises are used in the rehabilitation of ankle sprains, as they reduce the effects of gravity and allow for gradual movement and loading of the joint. Additionally, the pressure of the water helps to drain any remaining swelling in the ankle and leg.
