Diego Simeone, the head coach of Atlético, confirmed his satisfaction with his team's reaction during the match against VfB Stuttgart (1-1), praising the effort put in by the players after falling behind by a goal, as well as their ability to hold on after playing with ten men due to the sending off of Heulmand.

Simeone said in the press conference after the match: "I had explained to the players before the match the nature of the opponent, as they are a strong team that excels in pressing and collective movement in defense. We were unable to handle their pressure properly at the beginning, but after conceding the goal, the team started to react, and we performed better in the last 15 minutes of the first half."

He added: "We talked during the break, and we knew that the goal would come. We scored the equalizer, then the red card situation came, and we had to adapt to the match. We brought on Sørloth in the hope of exploiting counter-attacks and achieving victory, but the players put in a great effort."

He added: "I am pleased with the team's reaction in a difficult situation. The match was open, and we had to handle it in a way that allowed us to keep the point we have. The effort put in by the players helped us secure a point."

Regarding the red card situation, Simeone explained: "The red card incident is very clear, and the image is striking, which is why the decision was to send him off. Players need to be more attentive because the image can condemn you. When you rush to the ground, there is a possibility of colliding with the opponent, which makes the challenges dangerous."

Atlético Madrid's coach spoke about a potential penalty for Hanko after Grimaldo complained about a foul, saying: "I didn't see the incident, but everyone says he was stepped on his foot. We will remain convinced that it was a penalty, but that won't change anything."

Simeone also praised Julián Álvarez's performance, who scored the team's goal, saying: "He put in an incredible physical effort and worked on the left side. It was a wonderful goal, and I am happy for him because we need him. If he starts to regain the level he showed us in this match, it will be important for the team."

He concluded about the team's performance: "What was shown at the end of the first half and during the second half, whether we were playing with 11 players or 10, is what represents our identity. We are a team that puts in a lot of effort, and we must exploit our potential to achieve the important goals that the club is striving for."
