4 goalkeepers shortlisted to replace Emiliano Martínez in Argentina
Lionel Scaloni, coach of the Argentina national team, is looking for a replacement for goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who will miss the squad during the international break in November due to a bone injury in his jaw.
Argentina are set to play two friendly matches against Uruguay on November 13 and Costa Rica on November 17, with anticipation surrounding who will get the chance to guard the world champions' goal in the absence of Emiliano Martínez.
Four names are in contention, with Gerónimo Rulli appearing to be the closest option to replace Martínez, despite his limited appearances since moving to Manchester City during last summer's transfer window. Another name that stands out is Juan Musso, who has yet to feature for Atlético this season.
Santiago Beltrán is among the options being considered, benefiting from his regular appearances lately, while Walter Benítez has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Crystal Palace, taking advantage of Dean Henderson's injury. After struggling for game time last season, he has started six consecutive matches during the first half of the current season, keeping a clean sheet in three of them.
