Messi after his last match with Argentina: I will miss wearing the sky blue and white shirt
Lionel Messi sent an emotional message after playing his last match with Argentina, confirming that he made the right decision despite feeling nostalgic about wearing the national team shirt after ending his international career.
Lionel Messi has stated: "My last match was yesterday, and I will truly miss wearing the sky blue and white jersey. I know I am making the right decision. It has been an amazing journey, filled with joy, as well as some sadness, but I know that every step I took was worth it."
The captain of Argentina added: "There were still many things I wanted to say. It is impossible for me to express everything I feel in a few words or in a single post. This journey would have been impossible without my family, who have always been by my side and supported me, especially in the difficult moments when I needed them the most."
He continued: "My friends were also a key element, as well as all my teammates and the coaches I worked with and their staff. And I don't want to forget Diego, who put our country in the place it deserves, and as I always say, I know he helped us with his presence, even from the sky, at every step of the way."
Lionel Messi thanked the clubs he has played for, saying: "I thank all the clubs I have played for, as they have always respected my feelings and allowed me to focus on my national team whenever it was time to wear the national team's jersey. And of course, I also thank God, for without His guidance and will, we wouldn't even dream of reaching what we have achieved."
Messi concluded his message by saying: "I am grateful. I love you all very much, I will miss you, and I will always thank you for standing by us and by my side."
