Barcelona prepare to travel to Paris despite protests and unrest in France
FC Barcelona, led by their coach Hans Flick, are preparing to travel to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League, despite the unrest and protests currently taking place in France.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", protests led by the so-called yellow vests have caused widespread disturbances in several regions of France, especially in Paris, which witnessed violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces over the weekend.
According to the source, the Greater Paris area recorded 855 arrests out of a total exceeding 1,200 across France, while the authorities deployed 5,000 police officers and imposed a strict ban on gatherings in key areas of the capital.
Despite the impact of disturbances around some stadiums, Ligue 1 matches were held normally over the weekend, with no matches cancelled. There are currently no plans to suspend the UEFA Champions League clash between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona.
Barcelona's squad is set to depart from El Prat Airport on Monday at 11:30 AM, arriving at Charles de Gaulle Airport at 1:25 PM. They will then stay at the Domaine de Riant Margaux hotel in the suburbs of the French capital.
FC Barcelona will hold their official training on Monday evening at 7:30 PM at Parc des Princes in preparation for the upcoming clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
