After 58 years… Barcelona matches Real Madrid's historic achievement

FC Barcelona, under German coach Hans Flick, has made history in LaLiga by winning their first 9 matches of the competition in the 2026-2027 season, marking an exceptional start for the Catalan team.

FC Barcelona secured their ninth consecutive victory in LaLiga against Real Betis with a score of 5-2 at the Estadio Cartuja.

With this achievement, FC Barcelona joins Real Madrid as the second team in LaLiga history to win their first 9 matches of a season.

Real Madrid achieved this feat during the 1968-1969 season, before FC Barcelona matched it after 58 years.

FC Barcelona has achieved a perfect score with 27 points from 9 matches, winning all nine of its encounters, which strengthens its position at the top of the overall standings, 5 points ahead of its closest rival Atlético.
