FC Barcelona begins move to sign Real Betis defender
FC Barcelona have started their moves to sign Natan, a defender from Real Betis, after sporting director Deco held initial talks with the Brazilian player's agent, André Cury, to explore the possibility of completing the transfer.
According to "Fussball News", FC Barcelona are targeting a 25-year-old defender due to his ability to build play from the back, as well as his physical strength, speed, and capacity to cover defensive spaces. The site noted that the player is open in principle to a move to Barcelona.
The club faces competition from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea, who are monitoring the player without entering into concrete negotiations so far, alongside Juventus's interest in signing him.
The same source clarified that Real Betis are requesting between €40 million and €45 million to let go of Natan, whose contract runs until June 30, 2030, despite his market value being around €30 million.
FC Barcelona has yet to make an official offer, and it will need to determine how willing it is to meet the financial demands of Real Betis, who are keen to retain the defender but may consider selling if a suitable offer arrives.
