Surgery to keep Adil Bourabaa out for around 3 months
Adil Bourabaa, the midfielder of Le Mans, is set to undergo ankle surgery today, Friday, due to a recent injury that will keep him out for approximately three months, according to the website "Foot Mercato".
Adil Bourabaa, 21, has made a strong start to the season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists in 5 matches, before suffering an injury that will keep him out for several weeks, with the possibility of missing until the end of the year.
Patryck Vieira, the coach of Le Mans, said during a press conference on Thursday: "The news is not reassuring at the moment, as there is a possibility of undergoing surgery. The player has consulted several specialists regarding ankle injuries, and we are waiting for the various reports to make the best decision for Adil."
He added: "This is the first major injury he has suffered, and it is a difficult situation. We are trying to stand by him and give him a lot of support, but he is asking himself a lot of questions, which is natural. I am sure that when Adil returns, he will be in his best shape and twice as strong. This is part of a football player's development journey."
The coach concluded his remarks by saying: "I am not a doctor, but it is possible that we may not see him again this year, and we will know more next week."
According to information from "Foot Mercato", Adil Bourabaa and his entourage have decided to resort to surgery to limit the risks of re-injury, with the recovery period expected to take about three months.
