Idrissa Gueye and Lucas Leiva invest in French club Le Mans

Le Mans has announced the addition of Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye and former Liverpool star Lucas Leiva to the club's group of investors, in a new move that strengthens the team's shareholder base.

The duo enters the ownership of Le Mans following the club's return to Ligue 1 this year, after achieving back-to-back promotions, having previously dropped to the sixth tier following its relegation in 2013.

Lo Man includes a group of prominent investors in the sports world, among them Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, who both hold stakes in the club.

Le Mans has returned to the French spotlight, currently competing against prominent clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille, after an exceptional rise that brought them back to the top division.
