Moataz Gamal undergoes urgent surgery before Zamalek's trip to Rwanda

Zamalek SC's head coach, Moataz Gamal, is undergoing urgent back surgery ahead of the team's trip to Rwanda to face the Rwandan Army in the CAF Champions League.

The son of Mo'tamed Gamal has shared a message on his personal Facebook page, asking fans to pray for his father. He wrote: "I ask you to pray for my father, as he is undergoing urgent surgery to relieve the back pain he has been suffering from for a while. I ask Allah to grant him a speedy recovery and complete health and wellness. Do not forget him in your good prayers."

Zamalek SC are set to face Rwanda's army team on Friday, October 16, at the Amahoro Stadium in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Zamalek SC suffered a defeat to their traditional rivals Al Ahly FC last night, losing 2-0 in the sixth round of the Egyptian League.
