League confirms scorer of Al Ahly's first goal after Cairo derby

A widespread fan controversy arose during the derby match between Al Ahly FC and Zamalek regarding the identity of the scorer of the first goal in the Egyptian League match.

Al Ahly FC secured a 2-0 victory over Zamalek on Sunday evening at Cairo International Stadium in the sixth round of the Egyptian League.

The first goal came in the 39th minute of the match, as Mohamed Hany unleashed a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, before the ball struck Achraf Bencharki and changed direction on its way into the Zamalek net, raising questions among fans about the true scorer of the goal.

Despite the interference of the ball and Achraf Bencharki's touch, the league association has credited the goal to Mohamed Hany, officially attributing the first goal in the clash to the right-back of Al Ahly FC.
