Before facing Al-Ittihad, Inzaghi has a golden record against German coaches

Simone Inzaghi, the Italian manager of Al-Hilal, has established himself as a strong competitor against German coaches, achieving 10 wins in 24 previous encounters. He faces a new test against Jens Wegner, the manager of Al-Ittihad, on Saturday evening at the Kingdom Arena, as part of the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League.

Statistics reveal Inzaghi's superiority in his encounters against nine German coaches, as he has achieved victory in 10 matches, alongside six defeats and eight draws, during his tenures at Inter and Al-Hilal.

In European encounters, Inzaghi has faced Hans Flick four times, achieving one win, one draw, and two defeats, while he shared victories with Jürgen Klopp in two UEFA Champions League matches in 2022. After losing the first leg 2-0, Inter won the second leg 1-0, exiting the competition with an aggregate score of 1-2.

Inzaghi has had mixed results against other coaches, losing twice to Julian Nagelsmann without securing a win, while remaining unbeaten against Roger Schmidt in four matches, achieving two victories and two draws. He also drew once against Alexander Blessin and won all three encounters against Costa Ronjatich.

Inzaghi's record against Marco Rose includes two wins and one loss across three matches, while his three encounters with Matthias Jaissle ended in draws in regular time, before Al-Hilal won one of them on penalties in the semi-finals of the King Cup last season.

Al-Hilal defeated Thomas Leitch 2-0 in the Saudi Pro League this season after a goalless draw in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
