Suspension hits Al-Hilal and sidelines Summerville for 3 Asian matches

Al-Hilal have suffered another setback in their AFC Champions League Elite campaign as the Asian Football Confederation has decided to suspend Dutch player Crysencio Summerville for three matches following his red card during the match against Al-Gharafa.

Crysencio Summerville had received a red card for violent conduct during the match, leading the disciplinary committee to impose a three-match suspension on him, which includes an automatic ban, along with a financial penalty of $2000.

Under the decision, Al-Hilal's winger will miss three consecutive matches in the group stage, as he will not be able to participate against Al-Sadd on October 13, then against Al-Shamal on October 27, and against Shabab Al-Ahli on November 3.

The punishment comes at a sensitive time for Al-Hilal, who continue their continental journey in search of a strong competition for the title, making the absence of one of their attacking elements an additional challenge for the coaching staff during the next three matches.

The Asian Football Confederation's disciplinary decisions, which numbered 20 against players, clubs, and national associations, included fines and suspensions in several cases, with a total financial amount reaching $58,000.

Ismaël Bennacer of Al-Gharafa has been handed the same punishment, as he has been suspended for 3 matches and fined $2000 for the same reason.

The AFC has imposed a fine of $16,250 on the Thai Football Association due to fan misconduct. Additionally, the UAE Football Association received 9 penalties related to delays in international match accreditation requests, totaling $18,000 in fines.

Al-Hilal hope to overcome the absence of Crysencio Summerville, who will miss three consecutive matches, and aim to achieve positive results during this phase of their journey in the AFC Champions League Elite.
