Shobeir stated in radio comments on "On Sport FM": "I can confirm with certainty that the greatest signing for Al Ahly FC in recent years from foreign players was Wissam Abu Ali, even though he has barely played very little."

He added: "In the FIFA Club World Cup, he broke records, in the Africa Cup, he broke records, in the Super Cup, he broke records, in the Egypt Cup, he broke records, and in the league, he broke records and was the league's top scorer."

Shobir concluded his remarks by saying: "That's why when his name was mentioned and it was said that there is a possibility he might return to Al Ahly FC, I told them if there is a chance for him to come back, don't delay, but there is no chance for him to return."
