Monaco beat Pisa and several injured players return
Monaco have secured a 2-0 victory over Pisa in a friendly match held today, Saturday, at the team's training centre in La Turbie, during the international break.
Folarin Balogun opened the scoring for Monaco in the 59th minute from a penalty, before Mika Bayo added the second goal in the 80th minute, securing the match for coach Philippe Luis's team.
The match saw the return of several players who had been sidelined due to injury, with Takumi Minamino starting the game after suffering a knee injury in December 2025. Ansu Fati also featured from the outset following his calf injury during the summer.
Denis Zakaria returned to the Switzerland squad after missing out due to a groin injury, while Anis Slimani played the last 30 minutes after recovering from an ankle sprain he suffered in mid-September. Jordan Théozi entered the fray in the 57th minute after being sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Mohammed Salisu, who had returned to action during the victory over Lens by a score of 2-1 on September 18, also participated.
Monaco currently tops the Ligue 1 table, unbeaten since the start of the season, and will host Toulouse on October 10 after the international break.
