Galtier: I won't close the door on a return to Ligue 1

Christophe Galtier has spoken candidly about his current experience away from France and his future in coaching, alongside his previous relationship with Paris Saint-Germain, in an exclusive interview with Le Parisien.

Christophe Galtier has been in charge of Neom since the summer of 2025, after leaving France in 2023 following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. The French coach has chosen in recent years to distance himself from the media spotlight that accompanied his career in Ligue 1, opting for a new experience in Saudi Arabia.

The 60-year-old highlighted that his experience in Saudi Arabia allowed him to discover a different environment, focusing more on work on the pitch and enjoying football. It also helped him take a step back from his previous career and think calmly about his future, which he still sees extending for several more years.

Despite his departure from Ligue 1, Galtier confirmed that his relationship with French football has not been severed, saying in a discussion about the possibility of returning in the future: "I will never close the door on Ligue 1." The coach also spoke about his experience with Paris Saint-Germain and the choices he made throughout his career, in an interview described by the newspaper as candid and human.
