Gomez banned for 1 match and Galtier for 3 matches by "disciplinary" decision

The Saudi Football Federation's Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has imposed sanctions on José Gomes and Christophe Galtier following incidents that occurred during the matches of the sixth round of the Saudi Pro League.

The committee has decided to suspend Portuguese coach José Gomes of Al Khaleej for one match, in addition to imposing a fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyals, following an incident during the match against Al Nassr.

Gomez has received a punishment following his unsporting behavior towards a ball boy during the match between Al Khaleej and Al Nassr on September 12.

The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee based its decision on footage captured by the official broadcaster of the match before applying the penalty in accordance with Article 48-2-1 of the Disciplinary and Ethics Regulations.

In contrast, French coach Christophe Galtier of Neom has received a harsher penalty, as the committee decided to suspend him for 3 matches and fine him 30,000 Saudi Riyals.

Christophe Galtier faces a suspension following a direct red card and disciplinary actions related to his behavior during the match between Al Neom and Al Fateh.

The committee revealed that the referee's report from the match between Neom and Al-Fateh, held on September 13, confirmed that Galtier directed obscene and insulting gestures towards the opposing team's bench.

The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has clarified that the sanctions imposed on the coaches are final and must be enforced, confirming their non-appealability based on Article 144 of the regulations.
