Manchester City responds to Premier League with official statement

Manchester City has issued an official statement following the publication of the Premier League's committee opinion today, confirming its "disappointment and astonishment" at what was stated in the decision.

The club said in its statement that it is 'innocent of the accusations' made by the Premier League, pointing to a 'comprehensive set of irrefutable evidence' to support all its positions regarding the case.

Manchester City has confirmed it will continue to act decisively, and when necessary proactively, before all appropriate regulatory and legal bodies, clarifying that the procedures initiated by the Premier League are still ongoing and not all aspects have been completed yet.

The club added that it will pursue available appeal avenues, based on its view that the issued opinion contains, in its opinion, "clear substantive errors in law, principle, and fact," and that it is not sound.

Manchester City has stated that it has adhered to due legal processes over the past eight years, believing that the Premier League's board and executive management would act as an independent, neutral, and fair regulatory body, free from any biased influences.

The club concluded its statement by confirming that it is currently restricted in what it can say further, until all future procedures related to the case are completed.

The Premier League has announced today, Tuesday, that Manchester City has been found guilty of all charges related to financial rule breaches over a nine-season period, amounting to 114 charges out of 115.
