Sudanese FA requests postponement of national team's match against Mozambique
The Sudanese Football Association has officially requested to postpone the national team's match against Mozambique by 24 hours due to the arrival of the "Scorpions of the Jadyan" delegation in the capital Maputo in two batches, which has affected the team's preparations for the upcoming clash.
The Sudan national team is set to face Mozambique tomorrow, Tuesday, in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo.
The request for postponement comes as the Sudan national team's coaching staff seeks additional time to prepare for the match, following the arrival of players and delegation members in Mozambique in two batches, which has reduced the available time for preparation for the encounter.
Sudan enter the match at the top of the group standings with 3 points, having won in the first round, while Senegal occupy second place with 1 point, level with Mozambique, and Ethiopia sits fourth with no points.
The Sudanese Football Association hopes to obtain approval from the relevant authorities to postpone the match, giving the national team extra time to prepare before facing their away fixture.
