Federation rejects AS FAR Rabat's request to face Olympic team

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has rejected AS FAR Rabat's request to play a friendly against the U23 national team during the current international break, as part of the military team's preparations for upcoming matches.

According to the newspaper «Assabah» in its issue published today, Monday, September 28, 2026, officials from AS FAR Rabat have proposed to hold the match on October 3 or 4, but Jamal Ait Benider has rejected scheduling it due to the Olympic team's commitments with matches against Mali and Tanzania on October 1 and 5.

AS FAR Rabat is looking to take advantage of the international break to keep their players ready and maintain competitive rhythm, after their matches in the first and second rounds of the professional league against Raja Club and RS Berkane were postponed.

The postponement of the military team's matches came as four of their players joined national teams, prompting the club's officials to seek a friendly during the current break to compensate for the absence of official competitions.

AS FAR Rabat continue their preparations as they await the resumption of the national league, having been unable to play their first two matches of the new season due to their players' international commitments.
