Ibrahim Bayesh reveals details of his negotiations with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya

Iraq international Ibrahim Bayesh has revealed the details of his negotiations with his former team Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya before ultimately deciding to accept an offer from Erbil during the last summer transfer window. This decision came after he concluded his participation with the Lions of Mesopotamia in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The management of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya reached out during the summer transfer window to discuss the possibility of Ibrahim Bayesh returning to the team, considering him one of the club's own after representing them for 6 seasons from 2018 to 2024. However, negotiations between the two parties ultimately did not succeed.

Ibrahim Bayesh, aged 26, has transferred to Erbil for a salary of 1.3 billion Iraqi dinars (one million US dollars) for one season, making him one of the most expensive local players in the history of the Iraqi Premier League, alongside Akam Hashem and Ali Jasim.

Ibrahim Bayesh stated in media remarks: "My experience with Erbil is exciting and good, and the team has a coaching staff of the highest levels. I believe I have chosen the right place, and the club management is respectful and good. When I shine, it means my teammates have shone as well, and the coaching staff employs me correctly in matches. We aspire to win the title of the Iraq Stars League."

He added: "When a player moves to a team for a good financial amount, this is the player's livelihood, and I am surprised by the campaigns that have been launched against Iraqi players recently, which is very unfortunate. By nature, I do not pay attention to criticism and what is said about me, but I have recently witnessed negative statements against both Ali Adnan and Saad Abdulameer, and this has hurt me."

Ibrahim Bayesh revealed details of the negotiations, saying: "At the beginning of the transfer market, I contacted the management of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and waited for their response for 10 days, but no one called me. Initially, the vice president of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Razak Farhan, contacted me and asked about my financial demands. I told him that I would sign for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya for 750 million Iraqi dinars, and he said he would call me back, but he did not."

He continued: "After that, the driver of the club president, Makan Biday, contacted me and informed me that the management is concerned about potential issues between me and Saad Abdulameer regarding the captaincy. I told him that I am not thinking about this matter; on the contrary, I want to represent the Falcons. After that, several close associates informed the management that Ibrahim Bayesh would agree if you offered him 500 million dinars."

Saad Abdulameer concluded his remarks by saying: "The management of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya informed intermediaries and close associates that they do not have the funds to finalize the deal, which is why I turned to Erbil, who made a generous offer. I will try to help the team win the Iraqi Stars League title, which is our primary goal this season. Now I look forward and hope to meet the club's expectations during my time here until the summer of next year."

So far, Ibrahim Bayesh has made seven appearances for Erbil, during which he has scored two goals and provided two assists.
