Rashid Jaber explains reasons for defeat against Al-Wasl in AFC Champions League Elite
In a heated press conference marked by signs of regret over losing a point at least, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's manager Rashid Jaber appeared after the exciting Asian clash that saw the Falcons lose 4-3 to Al-Wasl at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai during the fourth round of the AFC Champions League Elite. Jaber clarified the reasons behind this disappointing result.
Jaber confirmed during the press conference that the team paid a heavy price for defensive lapses and fatal individual errors that directly affected the course of the match, pointing out that such small details are what decide major continental encounters.
Jaber said candidly and realistically:
"The match was very open and exciting, with many twists and turns. We entered with focus and a desire to come back even after falling behind, but individual errors and haste at some critical moments cost us easy goals, which always makes it difficult for any team on the pitch of a strong opponent like Al-Wasl."
The coach praised the fighting spirit shown by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya players in the second half and the technical control that enabled them to score three goals and chase the result of the match until the very end.
The head coach of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya added:
"Despite the loss, I can only thank the players for the character and spirit they showed in the second half. Scoring three times against Al-Wasl on their home ground and trying to come back until the last minute reflects the level of ability and fighting spirit we have, but unfortunately, time did not allow us to complete the comeback."
Rashid Jaber emphasized that the team must now completely close the file on the match against Al-Wasl and quickly work on addressing the negatives and defensive errors before the upcoming rounds.
Jaber concluded by saying:
"We have closed the chapter on today's match with all that it entailed. Our full focus is now on the upcoming challenges and correcting our course, both in the AFC Champions League Elite and in local competitions. We will analyze the mistakes we made and work on addressing them to ensure we present a stronger performance and meet the ambitions of our loyal fans."
Captain Rachid Jaber's statements place the sports community and the Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya fans in front of a technical reality that necessitates reinforcing the defensive aspect before the upcoming battles.
