De la Fuente set to renew contract with Spain

Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of Spain, is close to signing a new contract with the Spanish Football Federation, which will see him continue to lead La Roja until 2030.

According to journalist Guillermo Ray, negotiations between the parties are moving towards an agreement to extend De La Fuente's contract by two additional years, after his current contract was set to run until 2028.

The new contract will keep De la Fuente at the helm of the Spain national team until 2030.

Luis de la Fuente has been in charge of the Spain national team since 2023, and in a short period, he has successfully guided the team to achieve several major accomplishments, having won the UEFA European Championship, the UEFA Nations League, and the FIFA World Cup.

The Spanish Football Federation's decision reflects a desire to maintain technical stability, especially with the results and tournaments achieved by the national team under De la Fuente's leadership, making the coach a candidate to continue his project until the FIFA World Cup 2030.
