Bayern Munich deny interest in signing Manchester City star Rayan Cherki
Bayern Munich have denied any interest in signing Frenchman Rayan Cherki, a Manchester City player, during the last summer transfer window, despite rumors linking the player with a move to the Bavarian giant.
According to Christian Falk, a journalist at Bild, Rayan Cherki was not originally on Bayern Munich's list of targets, confirming that the German club did not consider the player to strengthen their attacking line.
Bayern had identified Englishman Antony Gordon as a key target in the transfer market, but the deal became complicated due to the high cost, especially after FC Barcelona entered the negotiations. Following that, the German club turned to signing Ismael Saibari from Eindhoven, in a deal that had been under consideration for a long time and also received support from coach Vincent Kompany.
Falk stated that Cherki "was never on the list", indicating that Bayern currently has no plans to move for the player, especially given their numerous attacking options, while Cherki seems happy with his experience at Manchester City.
Rayan Cherki, who joined Manchester City in the summer of 2025, has scored 13 goals and provided 18 assists in various competitions, while he has started the 2026-2027 season strongly, having scored two goals and assisted two so far.
