Officially.. Referees organization admits Haaland goal was incorrect

The referees' organization in England has acknowledged a "misjudgment" in the assessment of Erling Haaland's goal during the match between Manchester United and Manchester City, which took place at Old Trafford as part of the Premier League.

Erling Haaland's goal sparked widespread controversy during the match, as the referee initially ruled the Norwegian striker offside, before the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) intervened and decided that Haaland was in a correct position and there was no offside.

The refereeing body has clarified in an official statement that the incident requires review, confirming that the video assistant referee did not correctly assess the impact of Enzo Fernández, a player for Manchester City, who was involved in the attack.

Following the incident that occurred in the 60th minute of the Premier League match between Manchester United and Manchester City, we can provide clarification regarding the goal awarded to Erling Haaland.

The statement added: "The decision on the pitch was to rule offside against Erling Haaland, but the situation was reviewed by the VAR, and it was found that Haaland was in a correct position."

"During the same attack, it was confirmed that Enzo Fernández did not touch the ball, and thus any offside infringement becomes subject to interpretation. However, in this case, the VAR official failed to recognize the potential impact of his position, and he should have recommended a review on the pitch."

The refereeing body has also announced direct communication with Manchester United, stating in a statement: "We have contacted Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we consider to be an error in judgment, and the incident will be reviewed."
