Injury threatens Trezeguet's absence from Egypt national team camp
Egypt's national team faces a potential blow ahead of their upcoming camp as Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet is at risk of missing out on the Pharaohs' squad due to an injury sustained with Al Riyadh during league competition.
Trezeguet suffered an injury during Al Riyadh's match against Al Khaleej, following a strong challenge from Kiki Kouyaté, in the 12th minute of the game, leading to the player leaving the match due to the injury.
According to reports, Mohamed Abou El-Ela, head of the medical staff for the Egypt national team, is in ongoing communication with the medical team of Al Riyadh to monitor the developments of the player's condition and determine the duration of his absence and treatment program in the upcoming period.
The source indicated that Trezeguet's recovery and rehabilitation period may extend to 30 days, which likely rules him out of the upcoming national team camp, before returning to participate with his team after he is fully fit.
Egypt's national team is preparing for their upcoming camp, which includes matches against Angola and South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Meanwhile, the coaching staff is awaiting the final situation regarding Kiki Kouyaté's ability to join the two matches.
