Scott McTominay is set to undergo surgery in London on Monday following a heart issue that temporarily sidelined him from participating with SSC Napoli.

The Scottish international has been diagnosed with a mild and benign case of cardiac arrhythmia, prompting the club to decide to carry out the operation as soon as possible.

According to "La Repubblica" via "Tutto Mercato Web", the procedure will take place in London, while SSC Napoli hopes that Scott McTominay can return to competition in October, provided that the recovery period goes as expected.

Scott McTominay will indeed miss SSC Napoli's upcoming matches, but the timing of the surgery was chosen to minimize the number of matches he will miss. Sporting director Giovani has clarified that the player will spend two weeks resting before gradually returning to training without contact.

Scott McTominay will have to wait 28 days before receiving the medical clearance that allows him to participate in official matches, according to "Avs Futebol".

SSC Napoli will monitor the player's condition over the coming weeks, as his return depends on how well he responds to the surgery and recovery program. The club hopes that the international break will provide enough time for him to recover and return in October.
