Kombouaré decides against returning to FC Nantes

Antoine Kombouaré, the former manager of FC Nantes, has revealed his stance on the rumors linking him with a return to lead the team after the sacking of Michel Der Zakarian last August.

Kombouaré stated in remarks reported by L'Équipe: "No, never, have I asked myself this question. They offered me a return for the third time when they were in the first division last season, but I refused."

The French coach stated that despite his great love for FC Nantes, returning to the team in the second division was 'impossible' for him, confirming that he did not consider taking on the role again.

FC Nantes have sacked Der Zakarian after a disastrous start to the second division, before the club moved to appoint Gregore Baurier to lead the team.

In contrast, Kombouaré clarified that he does not mind returning to coaching, indicating that he will be available to work starting from January.
