Olympique Lyon temporarily tops Ligue 1 after victory over Auxerre

Olympique Lyon secured a deserved 3-1 victory over their visitors Auxerre on Friday evening at the Groupama Stadium in Ligue 1 action.

Felix Bachmann opened the scoring for Olympique Lyon in the 28th minute with a header, before new signing Zakari Atikami added a second just three minutes later with a stunning shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Auxerre narrowed the gap in the 42nd minute through Cameron Archer, but Olympique Lyon quickly restored their lead after the break, when Ernest N'Wama scored the third goal in the 53rd minute, securing victory for the home side.

With this victory, Lyon has moved to the top of the Ligue 1 table with 7 points, awaiting the result of the Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco match. Meanwhile, Auxerre remains without points after three rounds.
